Living room decorating ideas – 3 Ways To Brighten It Up

Everyone has the same rudimentary living room. Ok, that’s a bit harsh, but it’s kind of true. There are a lot of people in the world with the same things in their main room, and it can be noted with three things. There is a coffee table, a television and couches. That about paints the picture right? Well, that doesn’t have to be the only thing that is in the area, and living room decorating ideas can make your room stand out quite well. In fact, consider the following 3 ways to make your room extraordinary on a dime.

The first thing to consider is any empty space in the area. Decorating ideas start with empty spaces. If you have a huge amount of wall space, consider adding a painting or a poster. Don’t just go for the generic; go for something that you’re passionate about. For example, if you’re a big movie fan, get a large poster with nice framing of your favorite movie. If you’re a fan of an artist, consider paying for their work and mounting it on your wall. decorating ideas for your living roomOf course, if you’re favorite artist is Andy Warhol then, your budget will have to grow exponentially to match the prowess. You can never go wrong with imagery in the main room, just make sure it’s not ostentatious or anything.

A second idea to brighten up your living room and give you more decorating ideas, is to make the television less of the focal point. This can be done by putting it in an entertainment cabinet, hidden away, or mount it it on a wall and hiding the wires. Remember, it’s imperative to make the cornerstone of your room something other than the box of video, but only if you’re looking for options that will help illuminate other areas in the room.

When in doubt, lighting always helps in regards to decorating ideas. Whether you’re adding Mondrian type of square lighting and fixtures, or you’re looking to add a chandelier or something more elaborate, a good since of lighting not only makes a room brighter it carries a certain design weight that can not be ignored by most. Look at a variety of options and if you’re not sure about adding things to the ceiling, consider getting lamps for the end tables that you may or may not have. Remember, you’re tying together a visual design aesthetic, which requires plenty of forethought.
